En Clase:

• Hablamos de los resultados duraderos del Programa Bracero
• We spoke about the long-lasting results of the Bracero Program
• Leyeron parte de capítulo 4 ("Un Milagro en Tent City") de Cajas de Cartón y contestaron preguntas de comprensión
• You all read part of chapter 4 of Cajas de Cartón and answered comprehension questions.

Tarea:

• Nada esta noche. Unless you haven't finished your DP update (it's listed as "missing" in powerschool if I don't have it) in which case you should finish it and email me your URL when you do so I know to check it.

• Hicieron una media-hoja de práctica mixta
• You did a 1/2 sheet of mixed practice
• Hice una presentación del Programa Bracero y tomaron apuntes.
• I did a presentation about the Bracero Program and you took notes. These notes are filled in for if you missed class.  Please see me about getting a copy of the presentation b/c it is too large to post on my google site at the moment.

Tarea:

• Piensen en 2 resultados duraderos que occurieron por causa de este programa.

• We talked about what's new in your lives from vacation
• Jugamos con pizarritas blancas para practicar gramática mixta
• We played with mini whiteboards to practice mixed grammar
• Uds. trabajaron en sus DPs
• You all worked on your DPs.  The blog post below this has the expectations for your DPs. Please finish your update if you didn't in class.

Tarea:

• FINISH your DP update if you didn't in class.  Due BOC tomorrow.
• Haz esta hoja de repaso de Cajas de Cartón hasta capítulo 3. Respuestas (ANSWERS) en frases completas COMPLETE SENTENCES EN ESPAÑOL!! Email it to Becca (beccakatz.teacher@gmail.com) /turn it in by BOC mañana.

DP Update - Arte y Lengua

We will be doing a DP update EN CLASE lunes el 16 de abril.  No need to do this as homework, I am just posting the expectations while they're on my mind.

Aquí tienes las expectativas para los DPs respeto al trabajo de Arte y Lengua:

1. Título: "Arte y Lengua"
2. Descripción del trabajo: 3-8 sentences in English explaining what this project involved.
3. Una copia de tu declaración del artista final
4. Una foto de tu obra de arte (see google site to see if there is a picture of you with your piece)
5. Una reflexión: 5-15 frases en español discutiendo este trabajo.  Consideren las preguntas siguientes u otras:  

•    ¿Qué aprendiste de este trabajo? (cultura, gramática, vocabulario
• ¿Qué aprendiste de tu mentor?
• ¿De qué estás orgulloso(a) (proud) de este trabajo? ¿Por qué?
• ¿Qué cambiarías (would you change) al hacerlo otra vez?
• ¿Qué fue un reto de este trabajo?

En clase:

• Terminamos la película "Y no se lo tragó la tierra"
• We finished the movie "And the Earth did not Swallow Him"
• Terminamos la discusión de los tres primeros capítulos de Cajas de Cartón
• We finished discussing the first three chapters of Cajas de Cartón. If you missed it, here are the questions we discussed for Soledad and here are the questions we discussed for De dentro hacia afuera and their answers, too.

Tarea

If I were you, I would probably review mixed old stuff using all the great review sheets on Becca's google site in the review/repaso folder. Or I might practice specific skills using the awesome practice activities and quizzes on her quia site.  Or I might review the preterit using all of those incredible files in the "Preterit" folder on Becca's google site because it is challenging".

• Nada.  Unless you haven't finished reading CDC, in which case you should read ch. 1-3 and do the corresponding reading maps (which can be found at my google site in the Cajas de Cartón folder). BRING THESE TO CLASS TOMORROW!
