    • You edited the paragraph drafts in pairs
Tarea:
  • Make edits to your 1st paragraph based on any feedback you received today.  Then, write paragraph 2!  You're shooting for about 100 words/paragraph.  Please have your drafts printed DOUBLE SPACED and ready to go for tomorrow.  Guidelines for what needs to go into your second paragraph are available on my soon to be awesome google site in the "Artist Statements" folder

Do some review on these sites:

  • Conjuguemos - to practice verb conjugation.  Pick your tenses!  Remember to select "all but vosotros" if you don't want to deal with vosotros.
  • Check out the various activities on the Colby site (preterit vs. imperfect, IO, DO pronouns, preterit conjugation, etc).
  • Go to my quia page and do some activities or practice quizzes.

Para el fin de semana largo

Hey folks -- For the long weekend, here are some things to keep in mind!
  1. EDIT your artist reports -- those are due on Wednesday when you will turn in the old version, the new version, and the rubric where I've circled numbers.  You cannot get a grade without those 3 pieces.
  2. I will be giving you about 2 hours 15 minutes to work next week between Wednesday and Friday. Please plan accordingly and get work done over the long weekend.  
  3. If you have a project where you are doing most of your work outside of class, I will have review packets and steps for our writing phase ready for you to work on in class next week.
  4. Your final pieces are due on February 27th at 3:15pm.  
If you missed the presentation on Dalí, here is the powerpoint with notes. I want you to know the definition of surrealism and the symbols you see.

  • If you didn't hand in your artwork research sheet, please do so ASAP!  It is now late!
  • Write a proposal for your art piece and email it to Becca (beccakatz.teacher@gmail.com). It should include the following things:Your plan should have:
    •  Your selected art form (What are you going to make?)
    • Your rough sketch (verbal, in English, or an actual sketch that you turn in separately from your email) of your piece
    • The 2+ ways in which you will be influenced/inspired by your mentor.

  • Study body parts vocab (see the blog post below this for a link to the conjuguemos site) for the assessment tomorrow.
  • Here is an answer key for the homework (body parts and numbers) from last night. Here is the answer key to the preterit and imperfect story. 
Partes del Cuerpo
  • You can practice body parts on conjuguemos, but here are some things you should know:
  • (the) ears - I taught you "(las) orejas" but conjuguemos uses "los oídos".  You can use either - I don't care.
  • There are other words we don't have as vocab. SO YOU DON'T HAVE  TO KNOW THESE WORDS but you will see them:
    • the jaw = la mandíbula
    • the cheek = la mejilla
    • the hip = la cadera
    • the abdomen = el abdomen
    • the thigh = el muslo
    • the calf = la pantorrilla
    • the hair = el cabello / el pelo
    • the gums = las encías
    • the forehead = la frente
    • the eyelid = el párpado
    • the breast = el pecho (same as chest)
